Sometimes you just need a good tavern that’s a little more exotic. I like to have some more higher-end staples that your party can use to celebrate a big victory.

Overview:

The Broken Shell is an older tavern that has long serviced the docks district. It is an older building with a bright blue sign out front that shows a cracked shell.

One of the key elements of this tavern is that they serve breakfast very early, and then sell dinner very late. Which makes it a favorite of the locals and sailors. 

The owner of the bar is two friends, who opened it together:

1. Ralph Stonecutter: An older dwarf with a long white beard, and a short hair cut. Ralph has a passion for cooking and runs the normal day-to-day operations of the inn.
2. Hurley: An older turtle, with dark green skin, and a compass tattoo on his left shoulder. Hurley brings a lot of the money and investment to this endeavor. But more than that, he helps use his shipping contacts to direct customers to the broken shell.

Employees:

The following are the employees of the Broken Shell:

• Waiters / Waitress:
  • Lana Riley – A human woman with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. She is an older woman, and wears a pair of thin glasses and has a tattoo of a fish hook on her left arm. 
  • Carissa brightfoot – A halfling waitress with a bright smile and a great sense of humor. She has curly brown hair. 
• Bar Tender:
  • Kethic Rylon – A brass Dragonborn who stands taller than most Dragonborn, and is a big fan of the regatta race every year. 
• Bard:
  • Laura Karthic – A tall half-orc singer who plays the lute, and sings sea-shanties. 

Menu:

The menu of the broken shell changes regularly. The restaurant has some staples, but the main dish is always the special.

Food:

• Pan-Seared scallops in a butter sauce with asparagus – 5 SP
• Pan-Fried Haddock with Fried Potatoes – 5 SP
• Steamed Shrimp in pasta – 2 SP

Drinks:

• Scarlett Seas – a rum based drink with crushed cherries. – 1 SP
• Kraken Venom – Gin based drink with lime juice – 1 SP
• Rum Runner – A rum based drink, with fresh lemons – 1 SP

Senses:

The following are the senses when you enter:

• See: When you enter the Broken Shell, you find a nice bar with a light tan stone floor and fine-dark-stained wooden tables and chairs. The room is scattered with a few chandeliers that are carved out of wood to look like different kinds of sea creatures. Most evenings, Laura can be seen singing. 
• Hear: The bar tends to be on the louder side, with rowdy sailors. Laura is usually singing and working the crowd. 
• Smell: The place smells of great food, and exotic spices thanks to the food they are known for.
