The arcane district is home to much in the way of secrets and the nature of magic. The Scarlett Assembly is the most powerful arcane order in Zenith and the broader world. Now there will be an entire series of posts on the Scarlett Assembly and the different parts of the organization. And as part of that broader organization is the Vermillion Academy. The most elite magic school in the world, and helps to hone the talents of a future generation of arcane practitioners.

The Vermillion Academy has a rich history, and every part of the campus is steeped in history both good and bad. I could do a whole post on many of the buildings on the campus (and probably will).

But one of those buildings is Archway Hall, one of the smaller academic halls on campus, Archway sits at the back of the compass, and was part of the original campus. The building itself is a five-story tall building, that is about 75 feet on each side. The building itself is made of old black and red brick, with large archway style windows. The dark mahogany wooden doors have welcomed whole generations of wizards.

Specifically this building has always held the introductory classes for the Academy, and since then it has become a tradition that the building welcomes every new generation. The inside of the building, has floors made of fine marble that has been around since the original construction, and the walls are made of a fine polished brick.

The classrooms are large and full of fine wooden tables and benches, and in the halls hang portraits of the various wizards who have taught and risen to distinction at the Assembly.

The history of the Assembly and this building are intertwined including the greatest strengths and legends of the Assembly and their greatest tragedies. There is a memorial plague hanging at the front because this hall was the target of a member of the Assembly who unfortunately broke bad. Her name was Morgana, and later she became known as “The Midnight Queen.” A lich of great power who lashed out at the assembly in an act of revenge.
