About Me
Hi! My name is Kevin Mack, and I’m the creator behind the GM’s workbench. Thanks so much for checking out this corner of the internet. A little bit about me, I’m a software engineer by trade and have worked on a wide variety of solutions and systems over the years ranging from applications to support small businesses, through critical infrastructure and even sent code to Space. My passion is creating and building things. I love to write code, build legos, write stories, and have always been interested in TTRPGs. Most recently back in 2019, I started up a new dungeons and dragons game (5e) after a long hiatus from the game, and it took off, and I’ve been playing with that group ever since. We just finished a 4 year campaign and are now starting a new campaign, which we call “Broken Wing.” I’m a proud forever DM, and as much as I enjoy playing, I really enjoy the building of new mechanics, adventures, and a world for my players to explore.
Why the GM’s workbench?
For a lot of engineers, their garage and workbench are their happy place, it’s where they go to create something new to solve a problem or share with the world. It’s where they go to express their creativity and make something new. And for me this site is no different. This blog will have some general posts about GM Advice, and other content. But the primary focus on this content will be all the homebrew stuff I generate in the interest of offering it to you for the low, low price of “FREE.” My hope and goal is that whether it’s one NPC, an entire organization, or even the setting I’m building, that you would find something useful for your campaigns.
